Monette McKay is a New York native and actor.
She began her dance training at an early age and realized her passion for theater soon after. She studied at For Dancer’s Only in Little Falls, NJ and was a member of New Jersey’s Tap Ensemble under the mentor-ship of Deborah Mitchell. Monette won the NJ Paper Mill Playhouse’s Rising Star Award for her high school musical performances and was an ACTF Irene Ryan scholarship nominee while at Wagner College for her performance of Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street. She went on to achieve a BA with honors in Theatre and Speech at Wagner College in New York City.
As a performer, Monette has traveled the country with the National Tour of Mamma Mia! before landing her Broadway debut in the same show at the Winter Garden Theatre. She went on to join the company of the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis on Broadway. After Memphis, she swung into Broadway’s high-flying musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Monette is soon to be seen in Broadway’s upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Bitten by the on-camera bug, Monette has also made appearances on TV/Film in HBO’s The Night Of, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, an upcoming Marvel series and an upcoming indie film entitled Pimp directed by Christine Crokos.
